Several years ago we, ShadeTree Productions, were consistently listed on page 1 of
Google under ‘Sri Lankan Wedding Photographers’ and then when Google changed
their specs we dropped to page 17. It killed me!
I contacted several Sri Lankan companies to do some SEO (Search Engine
Optimization) work for us, but they didn’t respond. Can you imagine? So I tried learning about SEO and just couldn’t
comprehend it well enough. I then paid our website people to change our website
from Flash-based to HTML-based. I learned enough to know that we needed to do
that.
Revamping the website to fit Google's new specs took awhile. And then I began Lucy’sBuzz and 126 posts and 26,619 pageviews later, the HTML-based website, current updates to the website and
constant updates to our FB page, plus now owning a smartphone and being mobile
compatible, we are back on PAGE 1! And we are getting requests galore!
Amazing what hard work, armed with some tech knowledge, can
do!
