Romantic Shoot at the Park!

August has been a busy month for us with all the weddings. There are literally thousands of photos for me to edit! Which is why I haven’t written a Lucy’sBuzz as of late.

We also did a ‘pre-wedding shoot’, which I like to call a ‘Romantic Shoot’ because the couple is much freer than they are at weddings. For one thing, they are wearing their normal clothes, not a heavy gowned that is so pinned that the bride can’t move her arms. And no family crowd watching them, so they feel free to even give the odd kiss here and there!

We always have fun at the Romantic Shoots!

This shoot was taken at Viharamadevi Park in Colombo. The couple had to get permission from one of the government departments, and a letter stating that permission was given. At the park, several officials checked to make sure we had the letter. Otherwise, if we hadn’t, they would have kicked us out!

Friends of Shazna and Zakeer snuck up on the couple with balloons, tiara, ‘bride and groom’ ribbons, a ring and earrings and even cake! Boy, were they surprised!
And we got it all on the camera!

Enjoy!

Friends sneaking up on the couple!

Surprise!

Shocked!

Hugs!

 Outfitting the bride!

A tiara, too!

Good friends!

Cute!

Even a cake!

Time to taste!

Such fun!

MishMash

I don’t have a clear idea of what to write today and so I’m just going to put together some photos that have their own mini-stories. Hope you enjoy them! Take time to give a comment, if you feel like it!

This is a school sports activity that I went to and these girls did
a traditional dance routine. Love how they are made up!

So pretty and colorful!

Getting ready to go out onto the field.

This elephant polo was played on the beach down
south. No longer played there. I love this photo!
The mahout, the player and the elephant, on the left,
all wanted to go different directions!

It was a sight to see, with these big giants going
after the little ball!

The Galle train station.

The Galle Hindu Temple, which
has been painted since this photo
was taken.

Temple details.

Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple in Colombo.
The oil lamps for the lay people to light.

These ladies were sitting on the steps of the
Gangaramaya Temple and I thought how beautiful they
were, dressed in white, with their white hair, so I
started photographing them.

By the time it started raining, all these ladies had
gathered on the steps for me to photograph!

Today of All Days

I woke up in a bad mood this morning and couldn’t shake it all day. About all I could do was feed Toby and watch reruns of Boston Legal, which I do love. It’s now 7:30PM and I’m just getting around to writing LucysBuzz. Rather than whine about my mood, I’m going to post photos I took out of the car yesterday as we drove into Colombo, just to give a flavor of it all. I’ve been dying to take one photo in particular. It’s a billboard visible from an overhead bridge that’s usually full of traffic, so not easy to slow the car down to get a shot, but yesterday was successful! Yea!

Small petrol station. There is no self-serve in Sri Lanka.

Some stop lights now have count-down digits next to them.

Traffic along Marine Drive, a faster way into Colombo
as the main road, Galle Road is under construction
and a real pain in the neck.

Side street up to Galle Road.

Galle Road, where the construction has finished.

Another side street going to our computer place.

One of the large jewellery stores in Colombo.

Construction on Duplication Road. It's election time
and it always seems that during the coming elections
road work gets done.

Never been to this book shop.

This is my favourite billboard! Love it
and finally got the photo!
