Romantic Shoot at the Park!
August has been a
busy month for us with all the weddings. There are literally thousands of
photos for me to edit! Which is why I haven’t written a Lucy’sBuzz as of late.
We also did a ‘pre-wedding
shoot’, which I like to call a ‘Romantic Shoot’ because the couple is much
freer than they are at weddings. For one thing, they are wearing their normal
clothes, not a heavy gowned that is so pinned that the bride can’t move her
arms. And no family crowd watching them, so they feel free to even give the odd
kiss here and there!
We always have fun
at the Romantic Shoots!
This shoot was
taken at Viharamadevi Park in Colombo. The couple had to get permission from
one of the government departments, and a letter stating that permission was
given. At the park, several officials checked to make sure we had the letter.
Otherwise, if we hadn’t, they would have kicked us out!
Friends of Shazna
and Zakeer snuck up on the couple with balloons, tiara, ‘bride and groom’
ribbons, a ring and earrings and even cake! Boy, were they surprised!
And we got it all
on the camera!
Enjoy!
Friends sneaking up on the couple!
Surprise!
Shocked!
Hugs!
Outfitting the bride!
A tiara, too!
Good friends!
Cute!
Even a cake!
Time to taste!
Such fun!

Beach Shoot – Family Style!
We did our first
shoot with our new Canon 6D camera. Lipton was so thrilled. I was thrilled to,
but I especially liked our new off-camera flash light box that fits on our
Speedlite. Little things make me happy.
Great photos make
me happy and Sonali's family was great to photograph. They came from the US to celebrate their aunt's 70th birthday and wanted a visual record of it. Their photo session was arranged all via the internet. Love the internet!
The light was so
nice at the beach that we decided to take photos of ourselves, too!
The birthday girl!

Lipton, our new soft box, and me.
Goofs!
So handsome!
Pretty Lakna (who hates having her photo taken!)
Guess who.

Pre-Wedding Shoot in a park-like Setting!
I woke at 6:15AM
and didn’t hear a sound in the house. That
wasn’t right. Lipton was supposed to be up and about for his early morning
pre-wedding shoot! Not wanting to get out of bed, I rang him on his mobile. No
answer! The buggar had slept through his alarm. On the third call, he finally
answered.
‘Aren’t you ready
to go?’ I said.
‘Oh s^#*!’ he said.
One minute later I
heard the water running in the bathroom. Then I fell back asleep. Knowing
Lipton, I knew he had everything covered and he had plenty of time to get to
the location to meet the couple.
When the shoot was
over and Lipton came back home, I was anxious to see the photos. I love
pre-wedding shoots. Lipton always takes something different and interesting!
Happy to see the
good collection of images, we argued about what photos to put up on the
ShadeTree Production FB page and Lipton’s own FB page vs. Lucy’sBuzz. As usual, we compromised and so you get to see Lipton’s
photos here, on ShadeTree Productions and Lipton’s FB pages!

Fabulous Location; Pre-Wedding Shoot!
There are times
when I just love editing photos. When opening each photo, is as if I were
opening a Christmas present.
Lipton loves to do
pre-wedding shoots. Finding a location that’s new and fresh is always a
challenge. Getting the lighting right is another challenge. Hoping the couple
wears a great set of outfits that compliment each other is also something to
think about. And then, there’s the couple themselves – hoping they respond to
the camera. Lipton’s a pro at drawing out the couple and so I’m confident that any
shoot he does goes well. It’s always fun to see what he’s captured, whether
it’s at the beach, in the midst of antiques, or in a park-like setting.
One of the good
things about a pre-wedding shoot is that the couple becomes used to the camera.
I once had a bride who clucked her tongue and then looked away every time I
went to take a photo of her. I had to quickly get her comfortable in front of
the lens and break her of that habit. Others blink constantly and that’s a fun
one to work through. It’s a challenge, but that’s what makes our work
interesting.
Here are some
photos of Taniya and Dilshan’s pre-wedding shoot, taken in our new secret location.
This couple was definitely not shy in front of the lens. Lipton and the couple
had fun at the shoot and I had fun editing the photos!
