Promises! Promises!

In my LucysBuzz entitled Super Sexy Sri Lanka Wedding! WOW! I promised that I would upload the Pre-Wedding video of Milan and Shenzie. So, today is the day!

I also promised some dish about it. Rather than go into the juicy details, I’ll make it short. After several days of shooting the video with the full retinue, the retinue participants changed! Which meant that all those days of shooting were down the drain. A new storyline had to be developed. The couple maintained their cool, reorganised everything (including dresses) and Lipton came up with a new concept for the video. It meant shooting until the last minute and editing also until the last minute. Thanks to Lipton’s organised efforts, and the cool-as-a-cucumber couple, it all worked out!

The video shows everyone getting ready on the wedding day and it was played for the crowd at the Jaiq Hotel. You’ll see the door of the wedding hall in the last frame – that’s when the bride and groom make their grand entrance into the hall!

Here it is! Watch and share like crazy!

Spanx me!

This morning a friend texted me that she had bought a ‘tummy flattening body suit from Odel’ (Colombo’s great department store chain).

I told her it sounded like a girdle. When I was in high school we used to wear them to flatten our already flat stomachs and to keep up our nylons – this was before the invention of the dreadful panty hose!

It was hell getting into girdles. I remember the summer after I had graduated, when I had my first drink (or guzzle!). I was a bit tipsy and I had gone to the loo. While trying to pull and stretch and work my girdle back into place, I fell into the bathtub! Imagine trying to get out of that mess. Finally a couple of girlfriends came in and helped me gather myself!

So, these now famous Spanx that everyone seems to be buying and the ‘tummy flattening body suit from Odel’ are just a step, in MHO, backward for women. Of course, I’ve wanted one when I wear my shape fitting formal dresses (once in a blue moon), but not having one, I just went the au natural way and held in my stomach here and there – depending on how handsome the fellow was that I was talking to!

I am glad though that such things are available in Sri Lanka (leave it to Otara at Odel to bring in the great stuff), and I’m sure, as in most clothes in Sri Lanka, that they will NOT be in my size.

So, suck it up and hold it in, is my personal motto!

Thanks to my friend who sent me the photos of the goodies she bought yesterday at Odel.

What's a Girl to Do?

For the last few days I’ve been working on my website to get it up to snuff. Boy, is it ever time consuming. I’ve spent hours at the computer, until my body actually freezes there as if I were a figure in the Wax Museum.

I even made a new blog over at Wordpress, but finally scrapped that last night as I couldn’t make it work as well as this one here on BlogSpot. So, Lucy’sBuzz is still hosted by BlogSpot and if you want to make comments on it, you’ll have to sign up for Google+. Not a hard thing to do, just one more thing, right? And who needs one more thing to do in our busy lives. But do it anyway, because I want your comments!

My house is a wreck. I haven’t swept, or cooked (I did go to the gym one day, but maybe not today) or done anything in the last three days except work on updating the website. So, if you’ll bear with me, I’ll put up some fabulous blog soon. Until then, I’m back to being the waxed version of myself, hunched over the computer, working on site settings, browser settings, layout settings, texture, social media, colors, fonts, and all things website. Not to mention the images. Yes, the images. After all, it’s all about the images. Right?

So, okay, okay, I’ll post some photos.

These are few of the Good Market by Water’s Edge. We had a booth there during the Christmas season and had fun. Made some friends of the other people who also had booths. In the end, we decided it wasn’t the venue for us. But we had a blast while it lasted. The Good Market is a great place to get unusual goods. I found tahini there, homemade spaghetti sauce, good cheeses, great frozen yogurt, yummy breads, and a gazillion different cakes (which is why I’m going to the gym now).

Yummy desserts.

My favorite people at Frozen Fro Yo - the frozen
yogurt that's all natural. They even use solar energy!

There's even books there!

Mehindi!

Oh, how good does that look?

Yummy cakes!

These are the photos from our Christmas photo booth!
